Preschool

Each class has a 52 week curriculum that is run all year and prepares the child for the next age group and the next step in their education.

A similar routine is kept in each classroom so that each year the children know what to expect as they continue their education.

At the start of the day, each child is welcome to class and they are served a balanced and nutritious breakfast.

After breakfast, the class will have a collaborative Circle Time where they sing songs, read books, review flashcards of letters and their sounds, numbers, and other concepts, discuss the theme of the curriculum for the week, count, review the alphabet, discuss what day, month, and year it is, talk about the weather, ask the question of the day, and so much more!

Following Circle Time, each class will begin their Curriculum. Preschoolers will review colors, letters, numbers, ideas and more every single week. They do this by utilizing a variety of teaching materials and techniques such as incorporating art and sensory into their learning, doing worksheets that develop fine motor skills while working on learning concepts, observing and creating patterns, looking at cause and effect, and evaluating things that go with the theme of the curriculum that week. Our curriculum focuses on a weekly theme, letter, number, shape, and color. All of the projects for that week focus around these themes so they really have enough time to absorb the new concepts into their knowledge foundation. All our classes enjoy participating in safe science experiments designed to help them engage with and understand the fascinating world we live in. Understanding the water cycle or how snowflakes form fascinate little minds and begin getting them thinking about the exciting things in the world around them no matter how big or small they may be.

After Curriculum time, if weather permits, the children will go outside into our enclosed playground area for supervised playtime. This allows them to work their bodies, practice their coordination, and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. If weather doesn’t permit, we enjoy an indoor activity targeted at getting the children moving and exercising.

Lunch time is next where children will be provided their second balanced and nutritious meal. Parents are always welcome to pack their child a lunch if they wish, but just like at school, it must be a meal that doesn’t require heating. Should we notice that a packed lunch is lacking a nutritious component, we will offer some or all of the components of our meal to your child as well to supplement.

After lunch, we have a rest period where the children can take a nap or do a quiet activity. Afterwards, we offer them a nutritious snack.

Finally, while waiting for parents to pick them up, the kids will enjoy a variety of age appropriate group activities, activity stations, or free play to keep them engaged and learning. They’ll definitely be talking your ear off everyday with all they got to do.

All our meals are designed with the full day of activity in mind. We combine complex carbohydrates, healthy fats, proteins, dairy, grains, fruits and veggies for their physical and mental growth. From fresh blueberries to baby carrots in ranch and scrambled eggs to teriyaki chicken with rice and broccoli, you can be sure your child is eating a balanced, healthy and delicious meal.
